Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That company processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email message when needed to answer it. The message remains within our organization unless a legal duty requires disclosure to someone else.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server automatically receives basic technical details about that visit:
- Page-view times
- The referring website, when one exists
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Visited pages and time spent on them
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device type
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics providers combine this usage data for reporting. You may block cookies through the browser, though doing so can change how parts of the website work.
What We Do With This Data

No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. The site identifies where Greenup County records may be requested from the Sheriff's Office, the courts, Kentucky State Police, and the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not turned into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy policies govern information entered there, including retention and sharing choices that we do not control. Read the selected provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, court systems, Kentucky agencies, legal-aid organizations, or outside search services. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That activity takes place through the provider's systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be shared with:
- Advertising networks that serve ads
- Search providers that process a submitted query
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
- Analytics providers that measure use and performance
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection law may provide additional rights. Kentucky's Consumer Protection Act appears in KRS Chapter 367. Public-agency records are separately governed by the Kentucky Open Records Act, including KRS 61.872 and its exemptions in KRS 61.878. At a minimum, you may:
- Opt out of certain data processing
- Request deletion of your information
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Request a copy of information held about you
